Brief Position Statement
United Community & Family Services has an opening in Norwich, CT and Jewett City, CT, for a Physician. Duties include diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries and providing continuity of care through maintaining admitting at the area hospital and participating in on-call rotation. Candidate will also perform responsibilities for geriatric assessment, the Agency’s management program, and nursing home consultation as needed.
Qualifications
Must possess an M.D. degree or its equivalent, a License to practice in the State of Connecticut, and at least 3 years as an intern in an accredited medical residency program. Must possess board certification or eligibility in a primary care specialty.

Behavioral Health Services
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists & Psych APRNs and Adult Psychiatric Providers – FAST/Foster and Adoptive Support Team
Brief Position Statement
The main purpose of these roles are to provide periodic therapeutic consultation and routine medication management for clients who are actively engaged in therapy. Clients will include children, adolescents and adults. The employment relationship can be contractual, part-time or full-time, and flexible hours are available mornings, afternoons and evenings. Program Coordinator (Supervisor) – FAST/Foster and Adoptive Support Team
Brief Position Statement
The main purpose of this role is to oversee our UCFS Foster and Adoptive Support Team Program referrals, service delivery, budget and staff. In addition the supervisor will develop behavior management plans for the FAST staff providing direct services to children and families within the community serving Eastern CT and Middlesex and Windham Counties. Position requires a minimum of on-the- job travel, approx. 30% with own reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree and CT State License required – LCSW or LMFT
- Minimum of 3 -5 years experience serving client population, includes experience working with children from the child welfare system and foster and adoptive care. Candidates need a strong knowledge base in child development, the impact of trauma; attachment, separation and loss.
- Previous program coordination and/or supervisory experience highly preferred
- Current CT State Driver’s License and own fully insured and reliable vehicle required
- Some schedule flexibility will be needed given client population served
- Bilingual Spanish/English speaking candidates very much preferred

EMPS Clinicians Part-Time/Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services Clinicians

Brief Position Statement
The main purpose of this position are to provide assessments, stabilization and short-term therapeutic intervention to children and youth in crisis, and their families. They will provide emergency services in a variety of community settings. They will also coordinate administrative and outreach activities with EMPS, ER personnel, mental health providers, community resources, schools and families. They entail a good amount of travel and schedule flexibility with service delivery throughout Eastern CT.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related Mental Health field: MA/MSW/MFT plus at least one year of related experience
- Desire, innate ability/natural talent in provision of crisis intervention and emergency services
- Ability to manage within a flexible schedule and travel a goodly amount on-the-job
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking candidates preferred
- A valid driver's license also needed in addition to the ability to do frequent off-site travel and a flexible schedule
- Local residency is needed for on-call requirement of a 30 minute response time

Program Aide / Van Driver
Brief Position Statement
The main purpose of this role is to provide recreation & personal care to elder clients at our Waterford adult day center. You will also transport clients in an agency van, with great care & caution. This position is full-time day 35 hours/week position with full benefits, Monday – Friday day hours.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Public Service License required
- Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide required, CNA/HHA; certification in medication administration preferred
