Respite Program

Service Description

Respite Care is temporary care in the home or community for children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 with emotional or behavioral special needs to provide relief to their caregivers. Each child is allotted 40 hours of respite services which is usually spread over 10 weeks.

How to make an appointment

Referrals may come from the Department of Children & Families, The System of Care Collaboratives both in the Southeast and in the Northeast, or the FAST program.

What to bring for your first visit

Upon acceptance of the referral, the coordinator will contact the family to set up an intake interview in the home at the family’s convenience.
