Adult Day Care

Service Description
Ross Adult Day Center and Shoreline Adult Day Center provide a broad spectrum of day services to elderly and/or disabled individuals residing in New London County who, because of physical and/or health limitation, are homebound or might otherwise consider nursing home care. It offers a way or individuals to maintain their independence by remaining in their own home or with family while providing a means for them to get out of the house during the day into a safe and supervised setting.
Services
- A variety of planned and structured recreational activities such as current events, exercise, entertainment, intergenerational activities, pet therapy, trivia, discussion groups , games, arts & crafts & community outings
- A registered nurse provides health monitoring and medication administration and treatments.
- Assistance with personal care is provided by our trained staff (ie: toileting assistance & showers )
- A light breakfast, delicious home style lunch and an afternoon snack is provided
- Enclosed Outdoor Courtyard area is available for outdoor activities and gardening
- Transportation is provided by center vehicles to and from the center in areas covered by the center. (speak with center to see which of our location would be covered by your area)
- Additional Services include Hairdressing, Podiatry, Physical & Occupational Therapies (additional fees apply)
- Monthly Caregiver Support Group
Our centers are certified by the Connecticut Association of Adult Day Centers.
How to make an appointment
There is no formal referral required and tours are available. Call to schedule a tour.
What to bring for your first visit
Prior to using the adult day center all necessary forms including medical report must be completed by the participant and their physician before their first day of attendance.
Contact the center to make arrangements with the nurse to complete required forms.
Insurance Info
Fees for attending the adult day center may be covered by the following:
- Private Pay
- Connecticut Home Care for Elders Program through Connecticut Community Care
- Connecticut Statewide Respite Care Program through Senior Resources
- Connecticut's National Family Caregiver Support Program though Senior Resources
- Long Term Care Insurance
- Veteran Administration for qualifying veterans
