Pediatric Services
Service Description
The Pediatric Program provides comprehensive well child care and care when your child is ill. Staff includes full time board certified pediatricians, who additionally have admitting privileges at Backus Hospital. Services include: assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children. Minor office procedures may also be performed on site.

What to bring for your first visit
Please bring your Insurance card or proof of income (2 pay stubs) for participation in Sliding Fee Scale; You may also bring records from previous physician, if applicable.
Insurance Info
UCFS accepts most insurance plans. UCFS staff obtain health insurance authorization and re-authorizations as needed. Staff assistance is available for people interested in applying for Medicaid; HUSKY or Healthy Start. Ramindra Walia, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Walia is a Board Certified Pediatrican providing pediatric primary care with a special interest in treating children and adolescents with skin problems. Dr. Walia is also the Medical Director at the UCFS Health Center.
Rachna Walia, MD
Dr. Walia is a Board Certified Pediatrician providing pediatric primary care with a special interest in treating children with diabetes and weight problems.
Gisela Lee, MD
Dr. Lee is a Board Certified Pediatrician providing pediatric primary care with a special interest in treating children in foster care situations.

Hours
Program operates Monday through Friday with evening hours available Monday through Thursday until 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.. There is a 24 hour on-call program which can be reached by calling 860-892-7042 and asking the answering service to be connected with on-call pediatrician.
