Military Support Program
Program Description
Military personnel and their families often experience a range of issues when they return to civilian life. These can range from transitory adjustment issues to more serious problems, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), that are the result of combat experiences.
To help veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and their families in New London County, Allied Behavioral Health (an HMO located in Middletown, CT) has contracted UCFS to provide a range of assessment and treatment services as part of its new Military Support Program.
Services will include individual, couples and family counseling, as well as substance abuse counseling, evaluation for psychiatric medications and medication management. The objectives of treatment include early intervention to facilitate post-deployment readjustment and natural recovery from life-altering experiences and/or trauma, as well as prevention of long-standing psychiatric difficulties, social withdrawal, and substance abuse problems. How to make an appointment
