Service Description
Healthy Start is a health care program that provides assistance to income eligible pregnant women and children up to age two with Medicaid health insurance assistance (HUSKY), linkages with community resources and focused health related case management for high-risk situations. Babies born to Healthy Start moms are automatically enrolled in the HUSKY Program for 1 year without income verification or paperwork.

Call 860-892-7042 Ext 319, Angela McFarlane, Healthy Start Case Worker to determine eligibility and to schedule an intake appointment.
What to bring on first visit
Please bring the following information: Birth certificate, drivers license, social security card, proof of pregnancy, income verification, non income verification, proof of residence, medical insurance documentation if applicable and green card if applicable.
Insurance Info
Healthy Start assistance is available at no charge and is funded by the CT Department of Social Services. Healthy Start insurance is available to persons at 185% of poverty level, so a single mom can earn up to $1,979.50 per month to be eligible.
