Nightlight is a convenient, non-urgent service for when the unexpected should occur. We’ve expanded our schedules because fevers, earaches, falls and tummy troubles have their own schedules. Keep in mind, this service is for non-emergency cases. If your loved one is in need of emergent care, please bring them to one of our urgent care facilities or call 911.
When should I bring my child to after-hours care?
When symptoms persist and your child is experiencing discomfort, an after- hours visit might be needed. Our Nightlight Pediatric program offers after- hours pediatric care for many symptoms and acute conditions, including: fevers, ear infections, sore throat/strep throat, urinary tract infections, nausea or vomiting, persistent cough, cold, flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, sprained ankle, etc.
What are your hours of operation and location?
After hours walk-ins are welcome Monday-Friday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm (except UCFS holidays). Only available at The Edward and Mary Lord Family Health Center, 47 Town Street, Norwich, CT.
Should I make an appointment?
No. We accept walk-ins so no appointment is necessary. ¨ Please note that we prioritize patients according to the severity of their health issues, ensuring that those with the most urgent needs are seen first.
I am not a patient of UCFS can I still come to Nightlight Pediatrics?
Yes. You do not have to be a patient of UCFS to bring your child to our Nightlight Pediatrics program. UCFS staff will follow up with your pediatrician within 24 hours to ensure continuity of care. Please bring the following items to your appointment: insurance card, photo identification and a list of your child’s medications. If uninsured, please bring proof of income so our team can determine if you are eligible for our sliding fee scale.
What insurances do you accept?
UCFS accepts most insurances including Medicaid and offers a sliding fee scale.
Who is on staff to see my child at Nightlight Pediatrics?
Newborns through the age of 18 are seen by a pediatrician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner who specialize in pediatrics.
